PCD Inserts
Huamin Tools provides PCD inserts for aluminum, copper, graphite, composites and other non-ferrous precision machining applications. PCD diamond cutting inserts help achieve excellent surface finish, long tool life and stable dimensional accuracy in high-volume production.
PCD inserts are widely used for aluminum alloy turning, boring, milling and finishing operations. They are suitable for automotive components, new energy parts, precision housings and other aluminum workpieces that require stable surface quality and long tool life.
In addition to aluminum, PCD cutting inserts can be used for copper, brass, graphite, carbon fiber composites and other abrasive non-ferrous materials. The insert geometry and edge preparation should be selected according to the material, cutting condition and surface finish requirement.
Huamin Tools supplies PCD inserts in CCGW, CPGW, DCGW, VCGW, TCGW and other common ISO shapes. Custom PCD inserts can also be produced according to drawing or sample.
PCD inserts are used for aluminum, copper, brass, graphite, composites and other non-ferrous materials.
PCD inserts are generally not recommended for steel because diamond reacts with ferrous materials at high temperature. CBN inserts are usually better for hardened steel and cast iron.
PCD inserts provide high wear resistance, excellent surface finish and long tool life in non-ferrous machining.
Yes. Huamin Tools can supply standard PCD inserts and custom PCD inserts based on drawings, samples or machining requirements.
| Application | Recommended PCD Insert Type | Typical Workpiece | Selection Notes | |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Aluminum alloy machining | PCD inserts with polished cutting edge | Die-cast aluminum, automotive parts, aerospace aluminum components | Confirm silicon content, cutting speed and required surface finish | |
| Copper and brass machining | Fine-edge PCD inserts | Copper alloy, brass, bronze and non-ferrous precision parts | Use sharp edge geometry for burr control and dimensional stability | |
| Graphite machining | Wear-resistant PCD inserts | Graphite electrodes, carbon materials | PCD helps improve tool life in abrasive graphite cutting | |
| Composite material machining | PCD inserts or PCD-tipped tools | CFRP, GFRP and abrasive composite parts | Control edge wear and delamination according to material structure | |
| Wood and plastic machining | PCD cutting tools | Wood-based panels, plastics and laminated materials | Suitable for long tool life and stable surface quality |
This PCD insert guide is reviewed from an application engineering perspective to help buyers compare insert shape, edge geometry, workpiece material and machining condition before quotation. PCD inserts are recommended for aluminum alloys, non-ferrous metals, graphite, composites, plastics and wood-based materials, but they are not normally recommended for ferrous steel machining because diamond reacts with iron at high cutting temperatures.
To recommend a suitable PCD insert or PCD-tipped tool, please send the workpiece material, aluminum silicon content if applicable, machining operation, current insert model, cutting speed, feed rate, depth of cut, coolant condition, required surface finish and main problem such as burrs, tool wear, chipping or unstable dimensions. Drawings, photos and current tool wear images are helpful for application review.
